DataSite Orlando Teams With Vette Corp to Offer Liquid Cooling Capabilities
More Energy Efficient Cooling Dramatically Lowers Customer Costs
(ORLANDO, July 9, 2009) DataSite Orlando, a leader in world class data center
design, has teamed with Vette Corp (Vette) to provide clients with state of the art data
center cooling solutions. Data Site Orlando is using Vette's LiquiCool™ systems to
significantly decrease the footprint and energy consumption required to support today’s
mid to high density blade servers and super computers.
DataSite Orlando engaged Vette to address the cooling needs of a client who has a
vast array of blade servers and IBM systems, which utilize up to 500 watts of power per
square foot. By installing seven of Vette’s LiquiCool Rear Door Heat Exchangers,
DataSite Orlando has enabled the client to reduce its data center footprint by 80
percent, from 3,000 to 600 square feet.
"With Vette's efficient liquid cooling solutions, we are providing a tremendous cost
savings to our client while protecting their critical IT infrastructure, all while reducing
cooling energy consumption and carbon footprint – a win for everyone," said Rob
Wilson, Director of Sales and Marketing for DataSite Orlando.
Vette's LiquiCool Rear Door Heat Exchanger replaces the rear door
of a new or existing equipment rack and uses advanced liquid cooling
technology to remove hot air exiting server equipment before it enters
the facility whitespace. LiquiCool Rear Door Heat Exchangers achieve
industry-leading energy efficiency by eliminating moving parts and
fans – a critically important factor given the power density of today’s
data centers and the ever increasing cost of energy.
"Vette LiquiCool systems address the most pressing concerns of data center owners
and operators – power optimization, energy efficiency, space utilization and lowering
total cost of ownership," said Joe Capes, General Manager of Vette Corp's Datacom
Facilities Division. "Datasite Orlando has taken a leadership position in the market for
outsourced services by offering its clients innovative Vette cooling solutions which
enable the scale out or consolidation of compute infrastructure," continued Capes.
DataSite Orlando features a chilled water distribution system with 2,750 tons of chiller
capacity and more than 80 computer room air handler (CRAH) units. The facility can
pinpoint the delivery of cold air to the exact floor tile and triple redundancy on the water
supply guarantees complete ventilation and heat rejection around the clock.
"We are dedicated to meeting the demanding power and cooling needs of the modern
computing environment," said Wilson. "Our advanced water-cooling capabilities make
DataSite an ideal location for companies with high performance computing applications,
most of which generate tremendous heat loads."
DataSite Orlando offers 85,000 square-feet of fully customizable enterprise class data
center space in wide-ranging sizes, multiple uninterruptable power supply systems, 24-
hour security and surveillance, biometrically-controlled access, and other essential
features.

About Vette LiquiCool™ Rear Door Heat Exchangers
Vette LiquiCool™ systems are non-invasive and can be deployed easily in new data centers and within
data center retrofit projects, especially where redeployment of racks and movement or shutdown of IT
gear is undesirable or impossible. LiquiCool Rear Door Heat Exchangers are designed to integrate
seamlessly with third-party cooling solutions, such as perimeter CRAC and in-row cooling products,
delivering a typical 1 year payback in comparative Total Cost of Ownership (TCO). For customers with
green data center initiatives, Vette Rear Door Heat Exchangers may be able to reduce cooling energy
consumption by 85% or more compared to next-in-class products and can even be deployed using
computer room air conditioning or cooling tower return water. For more information, visit www.vettecorp.com.
